Significance of Baisakhi in Sikhism:

Baisakhi is very important for the people of the Sikh faith. As it was on a Baisakhi Day, in the year 1699 that the Tenth Guru of Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singhji, founded the Khalsa Panth or the Order of Pure Ones and gave a unique identity to Sikhs. On the same day the Guru gave, amrit (nectar) to his first batch of five disciples( Panj Piyare) making them Singh’s , a martial community. By doing so, he eliminated the differences of high and low and established that all human beings were equal. For the agriculturally rich state of Punjab and Haryana, Baisakhi marks the time for harvest of Rabi (winter) crops and is therefore extremely significant for the farmers. Baisakhi Festival is therefore also celebrated as a “Thanks Giving Day” in these states. It is also considered as the Day to Receive Guru’s Blessings for Sikhs, according to a popular legend in Sikhism, it was on this day of Baisakhi in 1567 that Guru Amar Das had first established Baisakhi as one of the special days when all Sikhs would gather to receive the guru’s blessings at Goindwal.

Scientific Importance of Celebrating Baisakhi:

As it’s a well known fact that Baisakhi is to celebrated the harvest season, meaning the day to celebrate the fruits of the hard work and toil. This signifies, that all the hard work and sweat that we put into the efforts, will definitely bear fruits some day. All  that we need to have is the patience & persevearance to wait and continue doing our hard work, because the universe knows the right time to reward the person for his efforts. All that matters is “Do your best positively, when results come accept it gracefully.” Don’t compare and don’t despair, every effort put in by each of u, will and has to bear fruit. Its just a matter of channelizing the efforts in the right direction,to bear the fruits at the right time, and at regular intervals. for this a person needs a Guru, who can shed light and dispel darkness. Hence this day is also observed as the “Thanks Giving Day”. To pay your Attitude of Gratitude to the Guru, who has been the torchbearer of your life, guiding & leading you to channelize your efforts in the right direction to get the deserving fruits, and yet maintain your humility,in your overall progression. This day also helps you to remember all the people, places, situations, that are responsible for you, to celebrate the fruits of your hard work, and make way for more of such prosperity in your life by forever living in the attitude of gratitude. By understanding & following this core value of “Attitude of Gratitude”, you automatically set your brain cells in motion to release more of the Feel good hormones, that always make you feel positive and happy, and you are always able to manage every situation and circumstances in life with a “Smile on your face and a song in your heart.”

I always urge all my disciples to continue to “Believe in yourself” and keep doing your part gracefully, the higher energy is always watching all of you, and when the right time comes, it will reward you for your efforts, without asking for it. Untill then continue doing the good work. Keep ploughing positive, harmonious thoughts in the entire universe where ever you go, because the universe is your field, and continue spreading unconditional love and unconditional forgiveness, with this attitude of gratitude, every day will be a rich harvest day in your life, to celebrate love, happiness and joy.

May there be total peace and harmony all over the world.

Love and Blessings

Hanuman Jayanti

Hari Om!

Wishing everyone a very happy Hanuman  Jayanti !

The name of Hanuman always resonates with the chants of Jai Shri Ram, such is the cosmic union epitomized by the unflinching devotion of Hanuman for his lord Shri Ram. This is the day to celebrate the birth of Pavanputra Hamuman. In times of deep trouble and distress,  it’s a common practice in the Hindu faith to chant the name of Hanuman or chant the powerful Hanuman Chalisa, or simply chant “Bajrang Bali ki Jai”- meaning victory to thy thunderbolt strength.

Key learnings  from the life and times of Hanuman.

The power of complete& unflinching devotion: Hanuman during his lifetime left a legacy of powerful teachings, for all his devotees . Hanuman taught us the unlimited powers that lie dormant and unused within each of us, and how to conquer these hidden powers and harness the complete potential in each of us. Hanuman during his lifetime, directed all of his energies towards the worship of Lord Rama, and his unflinched devotion made him such, that he was always full of high energy levels. And Hanuman’s only desire forever, was to continue serving lord Rama relentlessly. What this depicts,is that the power of devotion is infinite, and can move mountains and create ways where things seemed blocked and stagnated. Hanuman is the symbol of strength and energy. Hanuman is said to be able to assume any form at will, wield rocks, move mountains, dart through the air, seize the clouds and rival Garuda in swiftness of flight. He is worshipped in folk tradition as a deity with magical powers and the ability to conquer evil spirits. The devotees visit temples and apply  tilak of sindoor to their foreheads from Hanuman’s idol as Hanuman himself was of that color. A few thousand years before Ramayan time (in the latter part of Tretayuga – 2 million years ago), several divine souls came to Earth and modified the bodies of ape like creatures through evolutionary methods (genetic mutation) so that the animals could play the role of vehicles for these divine souls. That’s how the Vanar race with reddish orange color (hues of deep orange and light red) was established before the Ramayan time. Hanuman was born into this Vanara community and was of reddish orange color. So in all the Hanuman temples we see Hanuman colored in different hues of reddish orange color. Hanuman was the most powerful in the three Lokas the swarg , pataal , and prithvi.

A true example of a perfect Sevak : Shri Hanuman presented an example of a perfect sevak. As a result, many embodied souls attained Final Liberation by following the same path i.e. Dasyatva. Due to His humility only He was able to narrate the good qualities of Shri Rama to Ravan and when Ravan denigrated Shri Rama, Hanuman burnt Lanka and returned safely.

Use of Brahmatej and Kshatriyatej as required:

The sacred thread (Janeu) on Hanuman’s left shoulder is a sign of Brahmatej. Since Hanuman is an incarnation of Lord Shiva, he has destructive powers too. But, due to his relentless devotion to Lord Rama, Vishnu-tatva developed in him. Since Hanuman adorns Brahmatej and Kshatriyatej during wars, He can use both as required. During the war between the Kauravas and Pandavas, Lord Krishna seated Hanuman on Arjuna’s chariot (He can be seen on the flag at the top of Arjuna’s chariot). Hanuman destroyed the weapons, directed at Arjuna and his chariot, in mid-air itself.. The word ‘Hanuman’ means – ‘One whose ‘Roar’ cannot be fathomed even by the Gods. When Gods perform a destructive activity, they use the ‘Maruti’ element (which moves at the speed of wind) as a medium to appear in the Universe. Hence He is referred to as Hanuman. The roar of Hanuman is capable of activating the element of any higher Deity in the Universe even if they are engrossed in deep meditation. Similarly, it also possesses the power to shake all the fourteen planes (Saptalok and Saptapatal).

Strength, vitality, intelleigent ,wise and tremendous self control:

People worship Lord Hanuman as a symbol of devotion, magical powers, strength and energy. People read Hanuman Chalisa as it has ability to conquer the evil spirits and provide peace to the mind. Hanuman Jayanti celebration indicates the balanced coexistence of the whole human fraternity with the nature’s incredible creature, Lord Hanuman from Vanar community. People from the Hindu religion worship Lord Hanuman as a divine creature. This celebration has lots of importance to all however Brahmacharis, wrestlers and bodybuilders are specially inclined towards this celebration. There are many names through which Lord Hanuman is famous among his devotees like Bajrangabali, Pavanasuta, Pavankumar, Mahavira, Balibima, Marutsuta, Anjanisut, Sankat Mochan, Anjaneya, Maruti, Rudra and many more.Hanuman avatar is considered as the 11th Rudra avatar of the Lord Shiva with great devotion, strength, knowledge, divine power, bravery, intelligence, spirit for selfless service. He has devoted his entire life to serve Lord Rama and never showed his bravery and intelligence without any purpose. The devotees of the Lord Hanuman always pray to him for getting blessed with the same for their bright future. This clearly shows that the true spiritual potential of a person, doesn’t lie in the display of power and arrogance, but true spiritual person, will always have the strength of hanuman, and continue to carry the humility and wisdom of lord hanuman, to devote all his energies in the Bhakti ras, and thereby channelizing the energy for spiritual progression and constructive purposes.at the same time always remain grounded and retain tremendous self control over the 5 senses. He was an ideal karma yogi for his fearless, selfless service, humility and devotion for Lord Ram. Lord Hanuman is the only deity that cannot be troubled by any negative energies. Hanuman is the ultimate symbol of strength and energy.

So, on this pious day of Lord Hanuman Jayanti, seek the blessings from lord Hanuman, to invoke the bhakti ras in you,and progress on the spiritual path, achieve the highest goal, Live life fearlessly and retain the wisdom and humility of Lord Hanuman, who as a true karma yogi, had led his life fearlessly, and achieved everthing  in life, with ease, but always retained his humility and bhakti bhaav, which is the core of any spiritual sadhana. Always remember, spirituality and fear can never stay together, so live courageously, and spread the love and happiness all around the world, for the welfare of humanity.invoke the bhakti ras in you, and continue doing karma yoga and seva bhaav.life will always be full of beauty and love for such earnest seekers.
